As part of their Science Topic on Space, Class 3 were set a project to create a piece of independent work about a planet of their choice. I think you will agree these are amazing!

Well done Class 3 Amazing work!
It was the Year 5 leavers party last night and the children chose to have a Summer Beach Theme party, thankfully the rain held off so we all enjoyed some time on the field.
Some of the children had a Limbo Competition
There was also a piñata.
The children enjoyed the photo booth.
Thanks to all the parents who provided food and special thanks to Mrs Caven for supplying and manning the BBQ.
Hayden also baked us a themed cake! It was yummy!
Thanks also to all the staff who stayed to help celebrate the end of Year 5's time at Birdsedge. Now ready for Leavers Assembly. Tissues at the ready!
Today we welcomed children from four other local schools for a Gifted and Talented coding morning. Mr Burdon lead some challenges using the logo programming language. Four children from Birdsedge ended up with animated spinning shapes to amaze us all!
Children from Class 2 and 3 met with some members of the local community, and also children from Cumberworth School for an act of remembrance today. We read our own poetry and shared some prayers.
Class 3 have held a Science Fair today to showcase the work that they have been doing this term. Their topic has been States of Matter and each group presented an experiment based on what we have learnt about. They also sung a song about The Water Cycle.
All the children worked really hard and there were some fantastic discussions and explanations.
Special thanks go to our photographer for the afternoon Jae.
Well Done to all Class 3 for their hard work.
Today Class 3 visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park as park of their Science topic on Living Things and their Habitats.
We started the day by fact finding around the park to help with our Endangered Species Homework Project. We listened to a talk by the Meerkat Keeper – Adam. We told us that their menu for today was Breakfast – Tomato and Sweet Potato, Lunch was Locusts and Tea was Mice and Chicks. Sounds yummy!
We visited the lions.
Look how close the Tigers were!
Next stop was The Polar Bears and another talk by Keeper Adam (not the same one). We learnt about Victor, Pixle, Nissan and Noddy.
We had Lunch at Wallaby Walkabout followed by a walk through Lemur a Woods.
We finished the day with a workshop about different world habitats. We also got to handle some live animals including Colin the Hissing Cockroach, Shelly the Giant African Land Snail and Cornflake the Corn Snake.
We had a great day and will be using the information we collected in some exciting Science, Art and DT work
